Here you can see what is in your veg box in calendar week 26.
In this week’s box you will find…
a salad mix with edible flowers, goosefoot and pea-shoots
kale mix (red russian and sutherland)
green garlic
nibbled radish with tops on
We have added some sparkle to your salad bag this week, beautiful leaves of tree spinach ‘magentaspreen’. Also known as glitter spinach due the pink crystalline powder on the leaves!!! It can be eaten fresh or cooked and has a similar taste to spinach. We have also added pea-shoots and edible flowers.
You will notice that your radish has been nibbled, we have had little luck so far this year with radish, the slugs ate the first lot before they got a chance to grow and they made a good attempt as these ones too. As you know we are passionate about delicious veg and want to reduce food waste whenever possible, so we have put them in your box. Don’t worry the holes don’t taste of anything but the radish and radish tops still taste great! Don’t throw out your radish tops… cook them just like spinach or chard.
There is also green garlic in your box (just chop and use the whole plant in your cooking), and a mix of kale.
