What are we doing here?

At Upper Ballaird Farm Coop we grow. We grow fruit, vegetables, and flowers. We also want to grow communities, ideas, and friendships by offering a place for people to engage with the natural world and each other.

It is our goal to support the health and well-being of our community and environment through food, flowers, and outdoor services, produced and sold by empowered workers with regenerative livelihoods.

Everything we do at the farm we do with three main priorities in mind. We want to have a positive impact on our community, our workers, and our environment.

Community

We offer local and seasonal produce directly to you, our community. Food and flowers that have been grown without any harmful fertilisers or chemicals and in a way that supports our environment and local wildlife.

Enjoying outdoor space has many social and environmental benefits including better health and well-being, we offer a place to do this, through pick your own flower sessions and volunteering opportunities. We will have regular meet ups and pick up points too.

We are a not-for profit business, we exist to benefit the community.

Workers

We are a workers coop, our business is owned and run by us. We value one another and nurture an open, fair, and creative working environment.

We are working towards communal ownership of Upper Ballaird Farm. So in the future we hope the coop will own the land.

Environment

We understand our responsibility to people and the environment. We grow without chemical fertilisers or pesticides, support and encourage biodiversity, use agroecological and regenerative practices, and minimise our carbon footprint.
