Here you can see what is in your veg box in calendar week 32.
In this week’s box you will find…
salad bag
stir fry bag
chard bag
lemon cucumbers
herbs
fresh onions
radish
turnip
In your veg box this week…
There are fresh onions, you can remove any damaged or old leaves but please eat the green leaves, the are delish! Just chop them up and add them to whatever your onion is going into!
The stir fry bag this week is made up of broccoli stems, runner beans, a chili, a baby kohlrabi and aztek broccolli. Good question, what is kohlrabi! It is part of the brassica family like kale and cabbage, its quite like a turnip or cabbage. We suggest you cook the leaves like kale or spinach and chop, slice or grate your kohlrabi into your stir-fry! Aztec broccoli (huauzontle), has a taste similar to broccoli or spinach with a slightly nutty flavour.
The chard bag contains a colourful mix of chard called ‘fireworks’.
There will be a lemon cucumber or green cucumber in your box.
Your herb bag this week has two types of basil.
In your salad bag there are fresh salad leaves including a mix of butterhead, oakleaf and crisphead lettuces with edible flowers, such as nasturtiums, calendula and borage flowers. There is turnip this week and radish.
