Here you can see what is in your veg box in calendar week 31.
In this week’s box you will find…
salad bag
stir fry bag
chard bag
lemon cucumbers
herbs
fresh onions
In your veg box this week…
There are fresh onions, you can remove any damaged or old leaves but please eat the green leaves, the are delish! Just chop them up and add them to whatever your onion is going into!
The stir fry bag this week is made up of broccoli stems, runner beans, a chili, spring onions and a baby kohlrabi. Good question, what is kohlrabi! It is part of the brassica family like kale and cabbage, its quite like a turnip or cabbage. We suggest you cook the leaves like kale or spinach and chop, slice or grate your kohlrabi into your stir-fry!
The chard bag contains a colourful mix of chard called ‘fireworks’.
If you are wondering what the yellow ball in your box is, its a lemon cucumber. This round cucumber has a light sweet flavour. It’s delicious on its on but have heard rumours that it goes well with gin!
Your herb bag this week has two types of basil.
In your salad bag there are fresh salad leaves including a mix of butterhead, oakleaf and crisphead lettuces with edible flowers, such as nasturtiums, calendula and borage flowers.
