Upper Ballaird Farm are a workers cooperative and not for profit business growing vegetable and cut flowers in Balfron, Stirlingshire. We established in 2022 and converted to a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) model in 2023.
It is our goal to support the health and well-being of our community and environment through food, flowers, and outdoor services, produced and sold by empowered workers with regenerative livelihoods.
Our business is gradually evolving. There has been significant interest in the veg we are selling and we are slowly modifying our business to make that side of the business sustainable. We have also started to develop the cut flower production with interest from wholesale and direct sales via our developing local network. However, the cut flower production has been taking a back seat since the start of the business. With our energies being split between veg and cut flowers it has been challenging to give cut flowers the attention it deserves.
We are now looking to remedy this by bringing additional energy into the coop. We are offering the opportunity to establish a flower production on site and inviting expressions of interest to join us for our 2025 season and beyond. We are offering access to land and shared resources such as heated benches, poly tunnels, hand tools, mechanical tools and equipment, packing shed and cool room. We have support from our local community and there interest in local flower production from potential consumers and business customers.
Potential partners will have similar ethos to the current co-op and are interested in being involved with a workers coop with a broad vision.
